Version 2.2.23 released
  * Fixed a bug where the minimum skip size (internal and not directly user adjustable) would be changed to the current skip size when making any changes to the clone settings. This could cause an undesired skip size for phase 3. The minimum skip size will now only change if the user changes the skip size in the clone settings.
  * Updated the button labels for the relay buttons on the main window to power on / power off instead of activate / deactivate.
  * When resetting the current status or resetting the log, a time stamped backup is now created.

  * Fixed a bug where the log file would end up being zero bytes if the disk where the log was being written was out of space.
  * Fixed a bug with USB direct mode when working with card readers. If the device has more than one logical unit, a pop up window will ask to choose which unit number. Previously it only worked with the first unit number.

  * Added the advanced option Enable Rebuild Assist, to help aid with recovery on drives that support the feature.

Version 2.2.12 released
  * Fixed a bug when opening an existing progress file where the message "Unrecognized config setting startconfig" would appear. This was a harmless message, and did not indicate an actual error.
  * Improved the zero and mark filling of the virtual driver, so that only the data that was not read is filled, and any data that was read is returned.
  * Fixed the Virtual Driver so it will work with Linux Kernel 5.3 and above.
  * Fixed a program crash when switching back to a passthrough mode from one of the direct modes when the virtual driver was installed.
  * The "Erase Destination" mode can now be stoped and resumed.
  * Added information to the user manual about the mode "Erase Destination". The mode was added previously, but not documeted.
  * Added information to the user manual about how the virtual disk driver works with different Linux kernel versions. Testing has shown much greater stability with kernel version 5.0 and higher.

Version 2.2.11 released
  * Added the timer option "Always wait for reset timers". This is meant for drives that seem to be ready after a soft/hard reset, but are not truly ready yet and need a delay before proceeding after the reset.
  * Improved Direct AHCI mode to wait for the drive to become ready, waiting for the register bit DRDY. It is possible that failing to wait for this after a reset could cause the program to think the drive is ready when it is not. I don't think this change will break anything, but if anyone has an issue with this release where a previous version worked, please submit a bug report.

Live CD 64 bit version fixed
  * Updated the 64 bit live CD version to fix the issue where HDDSCViewer was not installed. This also fixed the issue where the program icons were not on the desktop. No program changes were made, and only the 64 bit live CD was updated, as the 32 bit version was not affected.

Version 2.2.8 released
  * Made some improvements for USB Direct mode flash drive compatibility.
  * Fixed a timeout bug with virtual disk and direct mode, where the 3rd party software would see IO errors when there were none.
  * Direct AHCI mode now sets the DMA mode when connecting and after power cycles. This does not really do anything for actual SATA drives, but when using a SATA to IDE adapter the mode change can increase the read speed.
  * The documentaion has been updated to reflect recent discoveries in using DMDE with the virtual disk driver for data extration. It has been found to be better than using R-Studio for this purpose. The documentaion also refers to available videos that have been created for this, and some complicated instructions have been removed as the videos provide better instruction.

* Fixed a bug with the virtual driver where it would not start properly on some systems.

* Improved the drive lockup detection on USB connected ATA drives by adding a passthrough ATA identify command.

* Enabling SCSI write now uses /dev/sgX devices, with the hope of working in cases where /dev/sdX chosen devices do not work properly.

Version 2.1.8 released
* Improved how the trimming phase handles major errors that stop the cloning. It now marks the rest of the block as non-scraped before stopping, so that when resuming it will move on to the next non-trimmed block, instead of resuming with the non-trimmed block that caused the error.
* Added 0.5 second to the soft reset time of the first read when cloning is started to allow the disk to perform the initial seek from parked, to prevent marking the first read as bad if using a small soft reset time.
* Fixed a bug where the phase logs were disabled if the log backup was disabled.
* Fixed a bug where the phase log setting was not saved to the project file.
* Added an additional message at the end of cloning as a catch all for any possible conditions that the program stops cloning without any other message.
* Fixed a bug where SCSI passthrough mode would still use ATA identify device data if it detected the device would accept the command.
* Added the Tools menu option Display Identify Results to display the results of the identify device command.
* Enable using ATA return to mark bad sectors is now turned on by default in the pro version.

* Fixed a missing error message for certain conditions when chosing the source device.
* Changed how the progress log is written, it is now written first as a .tmp file, and then renamed after it is successfully written. This helps keep the current log file one that is not partial or corrupt. The backup file is still written if not disabled.
* The domain file is no longer written if it is not being used.
* Fixed a bug with the Direct AHCI mode that could possibly cause issues with this mode not working on some computers.

Version 2.1.6 released
* Fixed a bug where there was no message indicating an unsupported sector size in the free version. What would happen when the sector size was not 512, there was no indication of that, but then attempting to start cloning would result in a message that the drive size had changed, with no indication it was because of the unsupported sector size. Now there is a message when the sector size is not supported in the free version.
* Fixed a bug where SCSI passthrough (or auto passthrough with USB drives) could report that the drive sized changed when it did not.

* Fixed a bug that when using a relay to power cycle, having the relay setting enabled would cause the fill modes to fail.
* Added an initial reset in direct mode when choosing the source, to help in the case where the drive or port is locked up.
* Disabled the main window while processing the source, as it would allow you to do things while it was processing, which could cause fatal program errors.
* The virtual driver will now start automatically when the program is unable to get memory addresses in the 32 bit range when using direct IDE or AHCI modes. This also works for HDDSuperTool mode.

* Fixed a couple typos in the program.
* Fixed a bug that affected the autopassthrough mode for some USB drives, that would cause all reads to fail.

Version 2.0.2 released
* Improved the driver stability, and added a checkbutton by the virtual mode buttons to choose to use the slow driver mode or not. The slow driver is less likely to cause a total system lockup, but it will use more CPU, cause smaller lockups, and therefore be slower overall.
* Removed the color from the buttons in the bottom status bar by default, and it now uses a more simple method to highlight the buttons that works with systems that the colors don't work on. Added an advanced option to use colors in the bottom status bar for systems that support it. The colors look nice if your system supports it, so I am dissapointed that it doesn't work on some newer systems.

Fixed a bug where the program would crash when installing the activation file on some flavors/versions of Linux. Fixed a bug where the virtual mode buttons would become clickable in the free version. Added some information in the user manual indicating that clicking on one of the virtual mode buttons starts a domain mode with an empty domain.

Changed the message when choosing an existing image file so that it states that it will continue to use that file, instead of stating that the file will be overwritten. This is to make more clear that the recovery will be continued using the same file. Added option to use the physical sector size as the logigal sector size for the virtual disk. Updated the End User Liscense Agreement. Reduced the number of available translated languages to the most common ones.

Version 1.99.3.beta released.
Added a function to the pro version to show SMART data. Improved the auto passthrough identify device results so that it tries to get actual ATA identify device results if possible from drives such as USB attached drives, which can only be cloned in scsi passthrough. Added a section in the instruction manual for 520 byte per sector drives. The installer now puts links in the applications menu with the catagory of Utility, which usually ends up under Accessories in the menu. HDDSuperTool will now list the possible modes if the target is not set and no mode was set.

Version 1.99.2.beta released.
Fixed the exit message when not run as root, as there was no message, it would just exit. Fixed a bug with the slow skips count, it was counting slow skips when there were read errors. Fixed a bug with the last run size value as it was wrong in phase 2. Improved the skipping algorithm to help extend the range of the read size per head. The cloning will now stop when there is a skip reset, with a message that the settings need to be changed. There is a new section in the manual that explains skip resets. Most GUI messages are now included in the language translations. The instruction manual is now available from the help menu. Added a new disk analyze function for the pro version.

Version 1.99.1.beta released.
Changed how skip resets are triggered. They are now triggered if a skip run exceeds 64 skips. When the skip size hits the max skip size, a reset is no longer triggered, the skip size will just stop increasing at max skip size. Added Slow skips to the display output for improved diagnosis capability. If a drive is locked with a password, this condition will now be detected instead of just producing read errors. HDDSuperTool is now part of HDDSuperClone, and will not be continued as a separate project. Please review the command line options of HDDSuperClone to see how to start HDDSuperTool. There are many other improvements and features for the upcomming PRO version. This release is a BETA release of the PRO version, and has the ability to be activated by a license file for the purpose of testing.

Version 1.12 released.
Fixed a bug with the cluster size where if changed manually it would revert back to default after starting to clone. Fixed a bug in the advanced settings with "Do not create backup log" and "Force mounted", as they were flipped in part of the code. Added size in GB to display output of the GUI. Added timer settings for direct mode. Added generic modes so a block device or image file can be used as a source. Made many tweaks to direct mode to make it work better. Made many other small program tweaks to improve operation. All of the improvements were for the GUI mode. The command line mode is no longer being tested and will be removed soon.

Version 1.11.gui.beta released.
Removed some code from the public release versions that was causing a library error on some systems. The code was for performing language translation, which is not needed by anyone but me when building it. I am not planning on updating the live cd as it does not have the error.

Version 1.10_gui_beta released.
Added an extra device check after a major error is detected to see if the device is still faulted or not, and if not then continue with the current operation. Added advanced settings to the GUI version, to complete the available options that were command line. Added the ability to directly process CHS for older drives that do not support LBA. Added the ability to to control the OS write buffer, due to reports of slow cloning speeds. Removed the 10% limit on direct IDE PIO mode in the free version since it is so slow anyway.

Version 1.9_gui_beta released.
Added language packs. You can now pick a language at startup. These language packs are created using Google Translate. While Google Translate is usually good at translating, it is almost certain that some translations will have errors. Hopefully none of the errors are major enough to cause issues with use. The program will now start in GUI mode if no command line options are used. The option --command-line has been added to bypass auto starting in GUI mode. Removed the annoying exit box popup when exiting the GUI.

Added the option --reset-log, to allow resetting all status except for finished, to allow starting over without loosing finished blocks. Added the option --gui to start the program in GUI mode. The GUI is still considered beta and needs a bit more work, but it should be fully functional for cloning purposes. Enjoy!

Fixed the display output so that when using a domain file, it will show the percent based on the domain and not whole disk, and the time remaining also now reflects this. Fixed the time remaining when performing retries. Improved the display to show the retry information when performing retries. If the progress logfile has errors of same status and that is the only type of error, it is automatically repaired as there is no integrity loss.

Fixed a bug where under some conditions the ata return data was not accurate, due to a non-standard sense descriptor. In these cases there is no ata return data, so it is now zeroed out, and only the scsi sense data is used. Fixed a bug where some error output was not seen, making it difficult to know why the program exited. Improved some error output to improve understanding if it is the source or destination that has the error. Added the option --exit-slow-time so that the time can be controlled before exiting for slow reading.

Version 1.4 released
Fixed the long option --progressfile. The name was changed in a previous version from --logfile, but somehow the change was missed in the actual code. There is now much more information included in the progress log file, some of it is configuration data meant for the GUI version. The command line version will use this data to reload the skip information from the logfile, which is otherwise lost if the program exits. Fixed a bug where reverse would skip phase1 when starting a recovery. Changed the recent skip to run size on the display output, as this seems more useful.

More internal code changed for the GUI. If errors are found in the progress log it will now mention the --repair-log option. Fixed a bug where it would not exit when a device fault was initially detected. Fixed a bug where the log would end up with adjacent lines of the same status. Improved the skipping algorithm so it tries to only skip as much as needed, allowing for more recovered data in phase 1, and the reduced chance of over-skipping. Fixed a bug where it would not import a ddrescue file stating that it had errors, and the repair funtion would not work on it.

Version 1.2 released
Added support for importing ddrescue map files that were created with ddrescue 1.22 or newer, as there is an extra field (current copy pass number) in the newer map file. The program will now ask for the name of the progress file if you do not supply it on the command line. Image file is now a selectable choice for the destination if no target was selected on the command line. ATA passthrough mode is now enabled in the free version, although the ability to mark a reported bad sector is still disabled. The skip threshold is now enabled in the free version. The options that are not free have been removed from the help. There have been internal code changes to prepare for the GUI, hopefully none of these changes have broken anything. There were a couple bug fixes that did not affect the free version: A bug was fixed where all reads were bad in direct mode. Fixed the bad head marking feature.
